It’s amazing if you love sports and photography. Almost all games have many of the same characteristics like action, excitement, suspense. Sports photography is all about timing. It’s about reacting. Right timing and right location allows you to capture the peak moment, when the action is most dramatic.
Sports photography is hard as photographers have to capture fast actions of players and which are unpredictable. Soccer is the toughest sport to photograph. It is high-paced game that makes it difficult for a photographer to capture the best shots. Getting a shot of the kick that scores a goal requires super zoom lens with a very quick auto focus system.
Basketball is easy to shoot as photographer only has to focus on the player who handles the ball and the net. This feature allow photographer to capture images from different angles. Football is little easier to shoot. Photographers know where the ball starts on each play and there are few options on each play. But it is considered as the most equipment intense sports because it would require waiting for the perfect shot.
It is hard to shoot photographs of Golf due to the nature of the game itself. What you can do is to camp at one location and take shots as players pass by. Volleyball is one of the rarely covered sports events. Turn your camera’s auto focus on it you want to capture dramatic and tricky shots of Volleyball. Motor sports and Racing Events are little easy to capture because you can get away with slower lenses. But since you’re far from the track, you need longer lenses for the shoot.
